12v is an unknown
shifter problem

I purchased an 02 wrx the other day. Plan on doing some work to it but I noticed a problem today that I dont know what to do to get it fixed

The shifter is loose. It moves up and down, not loose side to side. It shifts fine, but it makes a terrible grinding noise unless i hold the shifter up when im driving. What can I do to fix this?

You could try shifter bushings but, you will probably need something like this Turn In Concepts 5MT Shifter Linkage Update Subaru 5MT Models 1998-2005 (inc. 2002-2005 WRX) SLU-5MT-OLD at

06' wrx tr

Nah, new bushings usually solve this problem. I've seen early 90's subarus that have had around five inches of play in every direction and bushings solved it

2002 blaze WRX- sold:(
2004 Wrx-sold
2011 Wrx limited
99 Fozz- sold
