I purchased an 02 wrx the other day. Plan on doing some work to it but I noticed a problem today that I dont know what to do to get it fixed
The shifter is loose. It moves up and down, not loose side to side. It shifts fine, but it makes a terrible grinding noise unless i hold the shifter up when im driving. What can I do to fix this?
You could try shifter bushings but, you will probably need something like this Turn In Concepts 5MT Shifter Linkage Update Subaru 5MT Models 1998-2005 (inc. 2002-2005 WRX) SLU-5MT-OLD at RallySportDirect.com
Nah, new bushings usually solve this problem. I've seen early 90's subarus that have had around five inches of play in every direction and bushings solved it
