replaced my clutch now I have a noise

Last night i finally got my clutch in, I replaced the clutch, throw out bearing and pressure plate but did not replace my pilot bearing. Now I have a noise only when my car is in 3rd and 5th gear. The noise almost sounds like a hissing noise similiar to some sort of air leak but It makes no sence to me at all. Im really afraid that my pilot bearing is now shot. and it took me a good 16 hours to do my clutch for the first time, so I really dont want to pull my tranny off again for a long time lol. Thanks for your feedback.

Did you do anything with the flywheel? Resurfaced? Replaced?

I don't know much about tranny replacements but I know it's a good idea to replace or resurface the flywheel.

No i didnt touch the flywheel. I know its a good idea to resurface it but it looked almost brand new so I didnt bother. The car runs fine and shifts smooth and the noise is very very hard to notice but if you really listen you can hear it. Maybe it was there before and I only started to hear it after I put my clutch in lol I dont know. Im really not that worried about it anymore though. It just freaked me the hell out at first.

Sounds like your flywheel. Probably wasn't quite as new as you thought it was. If the sound isn't that bad though it's probably not a huge deal (hopefully).
