This guy with sunglasses in a ferrari modena pulled up at a red light here in vegas and started reving the engine. I figured I would race him for fun and launched the car at the green, his car bolted out into the intersection and I heard a grinding noise from his car and it died right in the middle of the intersection and I was about a 1/4 mile down the road laughing.
It felt great, I turned around and came back in the other direction and saw the driver and some guys that were doing the landscaping near by pushing the car into the casino parking lot.
anyone know what the grinding noise could have been that stopped the car, I was thinking the trans went out. Those cars are a ripoff if you get problems like that, the modena looked brand new, If I see the guy again I will tell him to go buy a wrx.
the modenas have a f1 style tiptronic that supposedly shifts in 100th of a second. sounds like he slipped the clutch or something to that effect. they are expensive rolling garbage though.
I saw the guy again with the modena at the shell station yesterday. He was walking out of the store when I was getting out of my wrx. He remembered me from the other day and told me his clutch went out on his ferrari. I asked him if he wanted to race again and he said no that his car sucked and told me he was selling the modena and asked about the cost of a new wrx. I gave him the card for the dealership and he asked a few questions about my car and then took off!
Not at the moment i dont have a digital camera and my scanner wont work but i will hopefully get some online soon. its pretty much stock, ive just got exhaust, boost controller, and intake.
are you sure it wasn't one of those replica ferrari's? you know the fiero models with a few badges? i love my rex, but, well it is a bit hard to believe a ferrari got even minor clutch work done in one day.
