Question looking for new clutch HELP!!!!!!!

hey i think im needing a new clutch soon the one in the car now is getting kind of soft. i know i need to get a new one but what is the best kind to get. right now i have an ACT 2100 should i go with a new 2100 or go with something different. if your wnating to know i plan to hit the drag strip a litte but ather than that its jusy daily driven. ONCE AGAIN HELP !!!!!!

Stock clutch. Unless you have a really upgraded transmission, the stock clutch is absolutely the best choice. Especially on an 02 which has the weakest transmission of any WRX. If you go with a more aggressive clutch, it puts more of a shock load on your transmission every time it engages and will cause your transmission to fail much sooner.

+1 to that. The stock clutch can handle a good amount of power also before it woud even need upgraded, usually with a new transmission.

if you dont go stock your going to have to worry about to harsh of an engagement and then next thing you know your tranny will be not so happy!

when you mean stock clutch do you mean like a stock aftermarket one from like ACT, or one from like the dealer???

The stock clutch is an Exedy Organic Clutch, which you can find for fairly cheap on ebay, compared to buying through Subaru.

$200 with shipping. (includes pilot and throwout bearings as well)

Be sure to have your flywheel either resurfaced or replaced when replacing your clutch.

gripforce.com sells the stock clutch kit for around that price as well.

i wish people would search about stuff like this :/

sorry for not searching for it i just wanted to get the answer fast, and get the right answer, i wish subaru would build a good trans for the wrx, do evos have any problems with theirs

teh 6-speed 4th gear overheats with long track sessions due to improper cooling and the 03-04 had shitty transfer cases but they are all kinda weak.

here is the deal i call the dealership today and its going to cost me about $1300 so i did get on ebay and i foud an exedy clutch kit with flywheel shipped to my house for $502 so do the subaru experts think tish would be the way for me to go. thanks for all the help
