LOL.. It's all good! The Subaru dealer quoted me $2325.00 to do it. MZM quoted me $585.00 for parts and $332.00 for labor. I thought that was really good compared to the dealer. Do you know of any shops that do it for less? Does anyone know a good shop here in central Texas?

Yeah, Austin Subaru quoted $2325.00. I thought that was an insane price, especially when MZM will do it for $900.00.. Oh but the dealer was going to give me a free rent car while the did the work... a rent car for $1300..LOL, I dont think so!

Top Consumer Advice Follows:

If the rental car is not one of the twenty Lamborghini Reventóns in existence, the price may be a little high.

Hope this helps y'all!

Well guys I took my car to MZM Performance here in Austin. These guys are the BEST by far!! They diagnosed my car and were very honest about my situation. Comes to find out the previous owner, when he replaced the front axles and changed the trans fluid and put the wrong type in the trans. He put a cheap fluid from an autoparts store in it. This caused the fluid to foam badly and was a very thin fluid. This was causeing my gears to bind when the trans was at operating temp. They found some copper in my fluid from the gears that were binding. They scoped the trans and checked everything thouroghly and found no damage, no pieces of chunks of any internals in the trans. So what turned out to be an expected $1500 to $3500 repair was actually a $300 trans flush and refill with the correct fluid (schaeffer?) and a total cost of $330.. I would recommend them to Everyone, if you own a WRX or any import, these guys are the most Honest, Dependable and Knowledgeable Guys in Central Texas!! Mohammed and musatsim are top notch guys!
Next week they're replacing all the suspension bushing, shifter bushings and possible a more aggressive spring set..
