front knocking sound when turning

I recently was hearing knocking/clickng sounds while turning at low speed such as pulling into a parking spot. So i changed the front cv axles and there is still a knocking sound. I don't know what is the problem?

Did you look at the steering rack? Might be a bad strut as well.

I am having the same issue on my 02 WRX.. Have you figured out what the problem is yet? I'm very interested in knowing what it is making that "clunk" sound..
Check out my thread in Diagnostics: 02 WRX steering wheel jerks left and right, pulls hard to right and can hear a clunk

Looking forward to hearing from you!!

Need more info but could be center diff giving you problems. Mine did that till it finally let go. drive the car in figure 8's then go in reverse. Do this a couple times getthe center diff and tranny up to operating temp. If it makes a clunk/shudder/grind-ing noise most likeley its the center diff. The next question is what could be causing the problem. Check the tires. Are they all the same? Check axles. Any rips in the boots? Any binding?

BLUWRXWGN: I appreciate your input. It only makes the clunking sound when I turn..going straight though the steering wheel jerks from left to right..kinda like it's limping or one wheel is egg shaped...
I've checked the tires they are good and all the same brande/size and purchased at same time. There is no grinding in the gears, and performance is normal. I'm really confused on what it could be. I've checked almost everything I thought it could be. What happened when your center diff. went out? was it instant or gradually go out? How much was the repair on that? and what did it all consist of?
