broke my tranny

Hey guys
about a week ago i broke my tranny and was not launching or anything like that was on my way to work.but i did a methonal kit and ups my boost by 1 psi.I am running 21 psi want to know how much power it takes to make your tranny give up so quickly like that i did not dyno but i guess i will soon to know what WHP i am getting down.I did rebuild my tranny though with the STI RA gear set cost me almost $3000 to rebuild.I am currently breaking in my new tranny also and will hit the track soon.
thanks
vijay.

There is no power level. It matters greatly on your driving habits. You can easily break it at stock power levels and there's plenty of people that go tens of thousands of miles with 300whp no problem.

What clutch was on it? Grippier clutches often add much more stress to the tranny and break em. We get a post about once a month from somebody with a gripper aftermarket clutch and a snapped tranny about 2500-7500 miles later.

i think if u have stock tranny stick with your stock clutch, i have my stock tranny and clutch, i have done more than a few 6k launch and my tranny is still running strong no grinding and every gear still shift smooth but i did burn up my clutch once but i rather the clucth than the tranny.
