Is this the beginning of a Problem?

Current Mods:

Silencer delete
Non Cat UP/DP
Intercooler Tilt
Hood Splitter
Stage 2 Map

I have noticed that while driving and I get the RPMs in 3rd gear around 3.5k RPMs (and higher when pushing it) then switch it into 4th, I sometimes hear a grinding sound. I know grinding isnt good so would I possibly have to much torque there?

Ahhh you have the same problem i have, except that mine doesnt grind unless its 5k and above, I believe that it would be the syncro.

dog box would be cool. would take the leisure out of driving. and you will want to refine your down shifts

when was the last time you swapped your gear lube? i would start there. im having trouble wrapping my mind around why increased power would grind gears. im curious how you came to that conclusion.

I didnt even think about the gear lube. Now bout the power conclusion, its just makes sense in the sense that as you increase in power you need to make adjustments to accomidate that power increase. I didnt do anything to the tranny yet. Besides I know guys that have blown rods, cracked teeth, broke clutches etc because they didnt have the right setting or work for that power.

Good call Nose Nuggets....
I do not see how the power alone would affect your syncros..... Hard shifting.... that would affect them...

Hmmmm.....I guess I do shift hard only when racing but even while driving at a moderate speed (10 above the limit) it still tends to happen. I looked at a PPG, roughly what am I looking at. 4K-5K?

maybe when you add 100 HP. but a map and some freer flowing exhaust components is not going to do it. besides, what sort of adjustments are you planning to make to the transmission?

I also have a slight grind going into 4th. If I shift very slow or very fast into the gear, it doesnt grind. But if I just shift normally there is a CCkkk sound. Ive tried changing to Royal Purple, but that didnt help much. Ive read before its not a good idea to rest your hand on your shifter while driving, and Im guilty of that. I just thought maybe it had something to do with that. I just ignore the grinding

Same here. I gotta let the rev's fall a bit before shifting otherwise I grind the shit outta 4th. It still goes in with a nice yank but she dosen't appreciate it at all. But letting the revs fall defeats the purpose. Now, I reserve that 4th gear grind ONLY when it's absolutely necessary.....and that's not often at all.
