AWD Manual OverRide

Ok this might sound weird, and don't know if it is even possible but here it goes.
Is there such thing as an AWD Manual OverRide? Where I can flip a switch, hit a button, or what; so I can make it just RWD or is the only way to go RWD is just doing the full conversion?
Sounds crazy and I know a lot of people are going to ask why haha

It's crazy on a subaru, yes. However, most 4WD trucks work with part time setups but they have more room to work with as well. In a tight space, you don't have room. Also, the front wheels in your typical 4WD part time setup get very little torque even when it's in 4WD.

AWD setups are more efficient than part time systems, like the 4WD trucks mentioned. This means they have less drag, better fuel economy and were designed for continuous use rather than intermittent use.

AWD is superior in almost every way to FWD or RWD, especially off-road with reduced traction - aside from added weight - and are the hallmark of performance Subaru cars [rally heritage].

Why might you be seeking to disable it?

I have never drifted an AWD car just RWD and herd that I am crazy if I wanna drift in a AWD besides on snow, rain, gravel, ect...

Yeah I see it done and knowing me I am going to keep trying to do it in the suby i am going to get but just figured id throw that question out there

I have heard of pulling the e-brake 1 CLICK to activate the brake light on the dash and it allowing the Forester to run either FWD or RWD.... Can't remember and I don't even know if it works or not. Just an idea.

The only way to make it RWD is to weld the center diff. That's not exactly an on and off switchable thing.

Be aware your axles are not strong enough to cope with the added stress. RWD conversions on stock axles ALWAYS bust them.

I don't have a wrx yet but I do have a 2012 forester, so I will try that today, hopefully I don't break anything hahaha
