ACT Clutch/Flywheel combo, stock trans with 40k?

I was going to order an ACT streetdisc clutch, not the race one, and flywheel tommorow but now I'm getting scared reading about all of these busted trannies! Just a few questions, how many miles were on your trans' when they went out on ya? Driving hard or just crusin'? BTW, I am doing a Helix UP/DP combo and a Cobb AP stage II since that might make a difference. Thanks alot guys.

If your're gonna go aftermarket I would suggest a Spec stage 1 or 2. They are a little bit more for giving then the ACT. I personally went with a stage 2 and I'm waiting on my local speed shop to get to my car. They are pretty backed up....But I'll post a reveiw as soon as I get it back. I hope this helps.

It shouldn't be too bad on the 04s as long as you don't beat the piss out of it... it was the 02s that had the trannies made out of glass.

So what years are safe and what years aren't safe for stronger clutches?

For what you have now the stock clutch is sufficient. I wouldn't use anything else until you upgrade the tranny itself. Its better that your clutch goes then losing gears and or synchros.
