08 wrx clutch advice?

I have a 2008 wrx, stage 2 atm, and plan on upgrading in time to a bigger turbo. Recently my clutch is slipping, HARD!....So its time for a new clutch and im just not sure what to look at. I had a ACT in an older car and always have heard good things, But now all I read is SPEC, Exedy, and random talk about subaru performance clutches. What should I go with?...any opinions based on feel? and Should I stick with my stock flywheel or get a lightened one? Thanks

I actually wasn't planning on doing gears at the moment....and so far Ive got a turbo back exhaust, intake and tune....putting down 245 whp n 312wtq....I have plans for an uppipe, vf52 possibly or another turbo, injectors, topmount and leave it at that....all the parts currently on the car are perrin and ill probably stick with them for the uppipe and topmount....my buddy looked into a spec clutch, stage 2 but it has no warranty...and also a high performance OEM style clutch with more holding power with a warranty...considering getting a streetlite flywheel from ACT....any opinions?....I'm not looking for anything crazy just more holding power and a nice stable clutch

i still have my OEM clutch with 25k and 330hp 360tq and not one slip yet. several others have gone ACT HDSS once there OEM clutch started slipping. keeping an eye on them since they like to drag race they have not had one problem with the OEM tranny. to boot they are over 400tq on E85. i saw another guy go over 400hp and tq still on the OEM tranny and clutch. you'll be fine whatever you pick.

i have read more then any other clutch about the ACT failing at just a few thousdand miles. but im sure thats because they are the most used so they'll also report the most broke, install error or something else like a knock off. their warrented so im sure its fine.

How many miles on your 03?

How many miles on what's in there ?

Do you drag/auto-x or drop the clutch ?

02 here. Since I went Stage 2 Im slipping also. It will only slip if I push it but I wanna feel the full effect of Stage 2 but right now Im babying it because I dont want to make it slip worse. ATM I have 109k and was looking for a clutch to basically just handle the stage 2 specs for now. I dont plan on swapping gears and all that other technical stuff. Not gonna launch, just want to be able to step on the gas and haul a$$.
Any options?

Problem with upgrading to a stiffer clutch and leaving stock tranny alone, is instead of slipping the clutch you will be breaking s***. I run a slightly stiffer clutch, but do not want to replace my tranny, it still slips if I try to launch hard. It has slipped since it had 10k miles on it and I was pulling 326whp on stage 2 e85, so I figure, it's either live with a bit of slip or replace the tranny. Given this slip is only at 5k+ launches, and it is now putting down 386 on airboy(low reading), it grabs hard enough to skip the car across the asphalt, all 4 wheels rolling over. If it slips really easily you might just need to replace the clutch?

It's probably just too old and worn to handle the power. An oem replacement cluch will be just fine for a stage II car.

So just go with a OEM clutch instead of upgrade.
It didnt slip at all at stock or Stage 1 but Stage 2 it def. cant handle.
I might do some minor other mods but Im pretty happy with Stage 2 at this point.
Just want it to Grab and Go!!

I ran with 350 AWHP on a stock clutch for 18k miles before it started to slip. With a few launches and some spirited driving. If I were you stick with a stock clutch, its cheaper and will do the job you are asking of it just fine.

Really depends on what you plan on doing with the car, daily driving, stock clutch will last a while. If you drag it, won't last long. I went 12.3's on stock clutch. Launching a car hard is what kills a clutch. Stock clutches are cheap but do you wanna spend 8 hours replacing em every 6 months. 08 is a strange year, transmission part number is diff than 07 or 09. I had one for like a month and got paranoid I had a glass trans like 02-07 lol
