Matter of personal opinion really...I went with the ACT HDSS. Some people like Exedy Stg. 1 and other people go with Clutch Masters. BUT, my only bit of advice would be to stick to an organic material and base your clutch choice off of torque, not HP. I am sticking with the OEM flywheel because I dislike the "chatter" you can get with the lightweight flywheels and possible CEL.

Stock or something close to a Exedy Stage 1 with stock flywheel or ACT Streetlight in my opinion. No one really needs the thing lighter than that unless they are racing and want to disable all the CELs that a light flywheel will bring up.

Edit: Can I joke and say that your HDSS might've caused your need for PAR gears?

Hehe, you may joke all you want. But no, the HDSS did not cause my need for PAR gears.

Here is why I went with PAR gears -

And here is why I went with another clutch -

Whoever owned this car before me sucks. For being an 07' my clutch shouldn't look like that...it's an Exedy clutch too not Subaru OEM (I know - I know, same thing). I can't find any numbering on it or anything aside from the Exedy stamp, so I will assume it's the Exedy OE.

Yes sir - have had it for 3-years no issues and no mess. Especially in this crap weather in the NE. I just make sure to wipe it down each oil change just in case...

Ah...I get it. Your going HDSS after you get the PAR gears. Not a shabby idea then. I don't know...all I know is that Exedy sponsers Rally America and some of the rally cars use them. I'm sure like anything else...its preference in the rally world too.

I hear ya - I come from the world of DSM's and everyone either swears by ACT or the Exedy twin disc. I spoke with 3-vendors regarding my situation and they were all for the ACT HDSS. I had the same power goals as the OP (Stage 2 + VF whatever) and they all said the Exedy Stg. 1 won't handle the tq.

Egg zachary my only regret is getting the valve with the nipple (heh, I said nipple). If I were to do it all over again, I would get the regular one.

That's why they make a Exedy Stage 1 HD

How does the nipple work? Sorry...Cap and seal vs the turning of a valve?

Edit: Nevermind...its supposed to let you attach a hose. I looked on the website.
