Alot of porn on site

Don't know if you guys have noticed this or not, but lately there as been a guy or 2 posting nothing but porn sites and pictures to go with it on the site. I am not one to complain about the pron , but I am sure your vendors don't want that happening to much.

I've been actively deleting it. I delete about 2-3 per day. Infractions seem to do nothing and don't understand what good they are, but I also get no response from the site admin about what else can be done. They are most likely spam bots from what I observe. And yes, it DOES it tiring just constantly deleting these posts and warning these bots every time I log in. Half the time, I'm in class or at work, so I have to be careful on what I do on this site now.

the porn on here is not why i'm here, but you always see 10-20 people view the free porn threads.

I'm not venting on anyone in particular. Sorry if it seemed like it. I'm just annoyed that there isn't a better way of dealing with it.

Simply put, we need the ability to ban nuisance members and their IP's. In most (if not all) of these cases, they're more than likely automated, which throws a wrench in the plan.

One rule that fixes 95%+ of this

No posting links in your first 10 posts

I like this site, but when things like this start popping up on the site, it makes you wonder what else might be lurking here that they don't know about. Actually, my pc locked up the last time I came to the site. It had never done it before. It could still very well be a glitch I happened to have, but I'll admit, it did make me wonder considering the things I've seen on here lately ! The LAST thing you guys want are people becoming leary to log on to the site !

I'm not trying to cause a stir, or to cast any blame for what occurred, but you guys need to clean the site up however you have to do it. Thanks, Okey

the idea isn't originally mine of course. It's a common addition to PHPBB based boards. I'm not as up on vBulletin's security features but some rules that help are:

-No starting a new thread on your first post (usually coupled with an "introduce yourself" thread stickied everywhere).
-No links or pictures in the first 10 posts (this is implemented pretty much by searching through entered fields and removing anything that matches the criteria to qualify for ppl who don't have 10 posts yet)
-content filters (although much more intensive on the mod/admins, they can pretty much dominate more stubborn attempts)
