Both dumb. I remember the whistle tips being a fad in the late 80s and early 90s. My neighbor had one in his honda. The one time he went down the road the whistle flew right out the tail pipe. It was the funniest thing ever.

Here's an idea: get a tank of compressed air. Set it up to release a woosh of air the second you release the gas pedal. The more gas you give it, the more air it will release. Voila - instant blow off valve. Design the tanks to be small to minimize weight and space and make them easily refillable with the free air at any gas station or by a compressor driven by the car's engine. Anybody want to partner up? That's a million dollar idea right there.

brilliant idea !! Should take under $100 to get it going. You can put it on a shelf at pep boys next to the stick on "vent" things and flame stickers.

John your idea was already half made back in the early 2000s. I used to see cars at Carlisle import turner wars. They used to put fake purge systems on their cars just to impress people. Thinking that they were purging the lines for a NO2 system. It was all smoke and mirrors. Useless stuff...in my eyes. Probably just a small tank of CO2 or something to get the smoke effect when it hits the outside air.
