wrx vs. evo

My friend has an Evo and I have a Wrx with up,downpipe, catback and soon to purchase UTEC. My question is will I be able to keep up with him with just those mods. Thanks

I'm guessing it will be close. But I think he will win in the end. Just my two pennies

well you "might" be able to take him.. but i doubt it with out a good tune, i was just at the track and the guy with a stock evo was pulling 13.2s..the key is if you get a good utec tune..i have heard people with just up pipe, down pipe, cat back and a utec pull a 12.9 on pump gas.. soo if you can really drive the car and have a good tune you can probly beat him..

It will be a close race, best driver will probably win. The EVO probably has a little advantage though power wise.

my buddy had a EVO b4 his tranny went out... and with 14psi on my dsm I kept with him dead even till 4th, but when a evo hits 4th... he blew by me like I was standing still...

I drove a pretty much stock(i think) wrx and it was pretty slow compared to my dsm @ the same psi...

it had a Boost gauge and it said it was running 14.5 psi and 14psi on my DSM would murder a stock wrx. but then again I have 2k in mods now and I could take the EVO @ 18 tuned psi... should be running 12's actually on the stock turbo.

Pretty much you will not be able to take him... even from a stop EVO's are damn quick.

Off the light. After you grab 3rd you will start falling behind unless you mod your FPR and add a Fuel Pump and max out that little stock turbo, then you will be fine until 4th gear, even at which then he will start to hand you your butt a little (nothing large).

I wish I could brag I can deliver a stage2 tune that would take on an evo above 70mph but unfortunatly I can't with the limitations of the stock turbo on the upper end.

Stock turbo on the DSM? (T25) or did you upgrade. lbs. of boost is really irellivent unless you are running the same turbo. The Big16G (TD05 clipped and ported 16G) in the evo will make a lot more power than the TD04 in the wrx at the same boost level.
