What do you do when someone threatens your car?

I'm having a shitty ass night. Basically, I was at a friend's house. She make every attempt at trying to get me drunk, and I was about there. One of our mutual friends was giving "lap dances" to some guys they knew from their request. Well, they found out I was video taping it and got kinda angry. Without letting me even get a chance to edit/delete it myself, they started grabbing my camera, and I got pretty pissed (some of them have GF's).

Two I recognized from previous parties, but one kid threatened to break my windows and some other things on my car. That's when it stopped being funny. I can almost bet you my face was as red as a ####ing fire cracker. I threatened this kid that if he ever said anything like that again about my car, I'd slit his throat. All of them realizing my seriousness, they tried to calm me down, as did my friends.

After a lot of talk, including a bunch of them telling me they were all Subaru owners including the dumbass kid, I had to leave. Don't get me wrong. BUT NO ONE THAT IS A TRUE SUBARU ENTHUSEST WOULD EVER SAY SHIT LIKE THAT EVER.

Long story short, I'm still pissed off and told that girl to make sure that kid is never around me again or I'd just straight up punch him in the throat. Am I overracting? Probably. What do you guys think?

Hell no, I dont think I would have just said it being that it was a closed party and I could more than likely get away with it. I would have hit him in the face.. No shit...

...you were "almost" drunk and really got lucky nothing more then talk happened. To overreact a little is normal under the circumstances--I personally hate when someone starts being a disrespecting dickhead while i am enjoying myself, it's such a buzz kill.
So no, you did not overreact--it just can get very hard to control the situation when every male thinks he's Hulk.

Yeah, drunk and angry. My only concern since he was drunk too, he might have actually done something dumb just because. If he was sober, I wouldn't have actually believed he'd break my window or anything

I think the drunkness contributed to it. I know when someone says something around me about myself, my friends, or my property i get mad quick especially if im drinking.

Sounds like a tricky situation... gonna be tough to laugh that one off. Just be careful with your beer muscles.

Dang Jon. That sucks, I dont think you are/were over reacting at all. I agree with everyone else. A true enthusiast would never make such a threat, and I believe even under those circumstances it shouldnt have even been joked about.

Until they actually do something just let it slide. I would've threatened them for sure in that situation, especially after a few drinks. It's best you didn't act on those threats, and just try and steer clear of the person(s) that threatened your car.

People who get angry when they're drunk shouldn't drink. That's my philosophy.

Vew: I have to say it. You probably shouldn't have been videotaping them. I would never put myself in that situation, but if I were, I would be upset that somebody was taping me. Yes, they should have given you the chance to delete it and not made grabs for your camera, but the beer was guiding them at that point. I have learned a little in my years about drunks. You have to treat them like an unfamiliar dog....they may look harmless, but if threatened they can become dangerous. Be careful!

I really have tried in my older age to avoid public drunken gatherings where anyone other than my close guy and girl friends are. We are all happy drunks, and if things get out of hand we are all buds and beat each other up and then hug and chug. We all have kids too, so as guess you get older you just avoid drama.

YOu didn't over react though. 2 things man...Don't F with my family or my car, and we're cool. Simple.
