Always a must do. I could never do chrome tails! Having chrome headlights is bad enough. I wanna take mine apart and paint them over the winter.

If you're not an experienced spray painter I'd stay away from attempting it yourself Nate. I did mine on my Z and it wasn't easy at all, and I consider myself a vet when it comes to bombing things lol! Any run created or section overlapped more than another section will show through when your lights are on at night...unless they're straight blacked out.

If you're good with paint and understand what a "light coat/misting" means you'll be good. Just apply as many coats as you want for darkness, clearcoat, wetsand, buff. Again, wetsanding/buffing isn't something you wanna attempt on your DD brand new WRX either unless experienced with it lol!!

Lamin-x is a film....like tint. I think Brandon is talking about spraying them with something like a VHT niteshades or smoke plasti-dip. I would recommend the Lamin-x if your confident installing it. Just my two pennies though. They all look pretty good except the smoke plasti-dip.

Im torn between getting lamin-x and murdering out mine or getting all kicker replacement door speakers next week. Whatcha guys think?

Keith, at least you can drive yours. I havent got to drive mine in two weeks and its killing me!!!!!!

Not in my budget. Ive got about 160. I can get some kicker 4" for the rear doors and 6.5" for the front doors around that price. I'm really wanting my lights smoked out as well though. I cant decide. I'm leaning toward the speakers right now though.

I feel your pain lol! It'll be quite a while before any real mods are done on mine again. Being broke comes with the territory of having kids though I suppose...

Yeah I was thinking of the "Night shades" spray, which looks a lot better than overlays IMO of done right. Overlays can just be a less than perfect fit on the light is all.
