Jon-what'd you do to organize a meet?
Well, I went on several different forums and posted in their regional/local meets. I went to NASIOC.com, and WVStreets.com. Also any WRX owners I did know, I told, and had them do their word of mouth thing if they knew others. Then I went on Facebook, posted on our Subaru group about the meet. I had low expectations, so it turned out pretty well in my eyes. Everyone was pretty cool. Would have been more, but one guy had to work, and one of my friends got towed that day.

If I was really desperate, I probably would have made a flyer, drove around and windowed people's cars (WRX's only of course). Basically, I set a date, time, place, said the goal was to meet other owners out there, maybe grab a bite to eat, and have a cruise if anyone was up for it. Funny thing was a bigwig from Subaru ended up showing to my tiny lil meet. Gave us free calendars

It really helps if you already know one or two owners that will wait with you. So you don't look stupid when no one shows up of course. Worse comes to worse, if you want people to come, tell them you're a girl.

Jon

Just kidding!
Hey Zaira don't forget that we have those Mohegan sun meets when it gets nicer out. But if you ever want to meet maybe we could meet in a half way point, Wilcot is kinda far from New Haven. The girl I'm seeing has a Subie too so you won't be the only one!

Yeah I've starting getting a few waves here and there. It's kind of cool but it's not like being on a bike where you know the other person is going to wave back. Unless of course they don't see you.

...it's Jason ...it's not an STi, it's a WRX.

Hehe, I was on my way to the gym a week or so ago and I waved at this dude in a silver WRX at the light. He just looked at me crazy and waved back.

Probably because I was in a Bonneville. !Laugh!

My car is well, it's like 10 lbs of shit in a 5 lb bag...

I thought he was there for the meet. Turns out, he was really going there to eat. Probably happy hour. Didn't even stop to chat with us.

dude you get some people who dont do the suby wave, bastards... it's a law of scoobys man..
this one guy that lived in my town who also worked right next to me in the city over.. i would see him and give a little left hand up aknowledgement, or an easy low key "cool" style peace from the side, and not EVEN a smile, or nod, or a honking frenzy.. nothing... i was very unhappy that day until a 2.5rs that sounded like it would eat my car rolled up next to me at a stop sign, and said whats up. now we hang out and do drives with other owners. romantic? i think so.. our subaru's are in love with eachother.

(OT: ***my girlfriend thinks i would sit by my wrx if it was sick *ie blown motor, tranny anything* before i would sit next to her if she was sick. haha....i didnt say yes, but i didnt say no...)

I kinda wish that more would wave or least give me the head nod. FOr all you other girls, I guess guys don't think we drive rexes....That it's only a "guy thing." Poo to you! But for those of you who still wave regardless, major kudos.

I always wave to other WRX's regardless of who's driving. Most of the time it's only young guys that wave back. Older people don't really get it. And at least around here the girls are friggin clueless. I always wave and nothing...so I've stopped waving at other girls ### it just gets me mad when they ignore me.

There's a girl with a white 04 running on those expensive 17 spoke BBS rims at the sorority down the street from me... just ignores me when I wave... oh wait, they do that when I'm not in my car.

Garage
one of my favorite threads so I'm bringing it back.

I got a wave from an EVO driver a couple of days ago and I didn't know what to do. I just kinda pretended I didn't see it.
