Well since it was posted today, I just have to throw it out there. Today driving on Fort Lewis (WA) I waved to a 08 STI, you know what the punk A$$ did???, gave me a thumbs down. I seriously wanted to follow him, RIP him out of his car and punch him in the face. I couldnt believe it, I have had it from the EVOs/SRT-4s, so on and so forth, but this is the first from another subie.

Thats exactly what I thought, but then after thinking awile. Its kind of common place. I will admit there are probably more soldiers out there that are POS's than there are good ones. Its his lose not mine.

Sorry to hear that man. Not everyone loves their car(s) like we here do. I have had alot of RS guys waving at me lately. I kind of like it.

I try to wave to all the WRX/STis I see, but lately I keep noticing them last minute and feel like a douche when I saw that they waved because it used to bother me when people didn't wave back to me in my old '02. I had a TSX for a while between the cars, so I got out of the habit, but now I just have a regrettable "I shoulda waved" thought half the time. It's not like our cars are unnoticeable. I just seem to miss them lately

It must be because they are patriots fans HAHA j/k. But think about it, how are we gaered to grow up now? Everything that is better than what you have, you want. So its always a competition for most people even if its not intended to be that way. Which sucks because I agree with you.

I always wave at passing WRX/STis. I get a lot of wierd looks, but when I do get that one guy/girl its awesome. As for the guy that gave you the thumbs down newtothegame, I'm truly sorry to hear theres a total douche out there driving such an incredible work of art...As for a lot of soldiers being douche bags...Yes, I totally agree, I work with a bunch of them. But this Soldier waves for everyone. I almost always gives the passer-by a thumbs up and a wave. I am so in love with the WRX and STi. I love my Bug Eye wagon so very much. +1 to waving

Ok, so i have to add my experience with the wave responses... My experience landed me in the doghouse for awhile. The other day me and the, er..brains of the relationship.. lol were driving to the movies when i saw another bugeye coming in the opposite direction. Out of habit i beeped the horn and gave a quick wave, I didnt even notice that it was a chick driving. Needless to say my girlfriend freaked out on me and wouldnt talk to me the rest of the night or most of the next day

That sucks to hear man, really sorry to hear it. Tell her its the love of the car, not the person driving it. My girlfriend still refuses to try and wave because she hasnt gotten many waves back.

The day i got my WRX in, I was turning right at a light and a blue bugeye honked and waved. I quickly honked and waved back. I was like yes! finally after all these years, Im a wrx guy!...That was in Indiana, an hour back in my town in defiance. We have a GM plant..you will see TONS of vettes all day anyday. I dont think anyone around here has a WRX anymore, but always in Indiana I seem to find other WRX's and they always honk and wave. I love it.

As for "competition" In some towns I always run into Mustang kids (I too a kid, but I try to think im more grown up.haha) and all kinds of cars that just wanna run you and dont expect your boxer turbo eng to leave them behind. But its always nice to find muscle car and tuner guys that also appriciate your car. Heck, I made friends with another guy my age in the area that has a EVO and we wave all the time. I look at it like this, It should be friendly, but you can have a friendly competition ### alot of ppl build on that and its motivation for eachother to bring the full potiental of your cars....But on a another note, you cant lie, we all like setting those big headed guys who dont know anything about cars, who think they are fast just ### mom and dad bought them that honda, mustang, whatever. I'll always be the guy who is wanting to prove them wrong even tho its RISKY, but Ive always have appriciated other ppls cars, and in my area, (GM's HEART AND SOUL) Its hard to get respect and its typical to think that they are just saying to themselves you just a fart-can kid with no intelligence or respect, it kinda sucks, but hey...thats life.

I can say i have had quite a few waves since owning my 08. It's a new experience for me being a Nissan guy, but a good one. I'm going to keep the scooby wave alive! I too have had a few non-waving STI's. Quick story about an STI... I was on my way home from O.C., MD on route 50 and this 05 white STI was on my a$$ while im doing 75mph. I change lanes and let him zoom by...... about 5 miles later i see him pulled over by the fuzz! haha!

I do the two fingers up thing when my hands on the wheel. I've been noticing a decline in it tho. Maybe thats bc I'm a girl. Ppl don't think I know about the "wave" lol.
