Water in the hood scoop

I was washing my car today and While I was dumping water in the car, I accidentally got water in the hood scoop. Sounds like I got water on the inter cooler and I'm hearing a lot of sizzling sounds. Did I just ruin the car?

No, rain gets in there, it's really not a big deal.
Matter a fact, STis came factory with a intercooler sprayer.
I wouldn't go off unloading gallons into it when the engines hot though, just due to the fact that in worst case senerio, that cool water on a hot engine could possibly crack something. And something almost has to be red hot for that to happen, just letting you know.

A- it's ok go get water in there in downpoor like amounts.

B- don't spray any metal with gallons of cool water when blazing hot.

I usually stick a rolled up towel in my scoop. I know it can get wet with rain/snow but I'd rather not get soap and grime residue on it. I know I'm weird lol

Soap is the least of the worries, because salt is way worse than a little soap that usually rinse and wipe off anyways. Salt sucks!

After a long day of off roading I always get a lot of dirty water n mud all under my hood and I just take a hose and spray it off, no problem

Water in the scoop is no big deal, you will be fine. It's a subaru; you're supposed to get Mud/dirt/water/snow/sand all over it!

I even dump ice all over my intercooler when it's super hot outside!

I wash the engine bay with the WRX running, and it's no issue. I would try not to put too much water on electrical gear like the alternator, but the rest should be fine.

That's not the best idea. When you wash the engine bay when it's cold you don't get water spots.
