If it was turbo'd...I'm assuming it was a Conquest Tsi. Correct?

What am I missing, all I see is a white 04 with a sti wing and scoop.

In the vid, I see a cel bounce on and off, an airbag light and I believe a abs light. That poor car is gonna explode.

Give some details on what was done to it, mi, how much you sold it for? How old was the guy that bought it, 16

I like how he bounced off the rev limiter a few times.

Got a text today and it reminded me of this thread, it's quite relevant so I figured I'd post here. Some of you who've been around more than a month here will remember the beautiful beast below, now referred to as Old Yeller. Sold about five weeks ago to an 18 year old kid who didn't know much about cars, not that I did before I had it either.

Anyway, he threw a rod today on his way back here from Montana. Whether it was his driving or my timing in selling it I don't know. It had an oil leak I told him about, I'm not sure if he was staying on top of it. He called for advice and said he was keeping an eye on it and babying it. I can't help but wonder if I were the one driving it if it would have crapped out today.

Man.. that's so much better than what I was thinking as I started reading your post. I thought you were gonna say the kid totaled the car and was killed!

Maybe that was your endless knock? A bad rod....That sucks for him. What rods were in that engine...if you don't mind me asking?

Heh, I meant to tell you that. They were STi stockers. As you know, they are forged and until now, I would have told you they would be fine for a build

When I traded in my WRX for the STI It was totally stock except for TGV deletes and had no issues.

I got a call a week later saying that there was some issue with the car. They decided it was a preturbo exhaust leak. I didn't hear anything else about it.

About 2 weeks ago one of the local members spotted it in a tranny shop for repair.

The guy that bought the car must beat it worse than I did. I launched and ran that thing hard with 310 WHP and didn't mess up the tranny for 3 years.

My name is Ken and I am a HP Junkie.

Hmm...well, I'm going to ask Ron what I should be good to go with. If he says stockers...I'll just use stockers. Ron's know how far surpasses the common man. If he recommends upgrading....then, I might go with carrillo rods or something other than eagles.
