Try a different mechanic, not to say he doesn't know what the hell he's doing BUT.... having a different person look at it might shed "new" light. No 2 mechanics are the same/know the same things.

well, problem identified! The car had a poorly tuned TXS UTEC on it. LOL. Removed, runs fine. Car is getting tuned TOMORROW!!!

kind of weird getting a call of "Did you know you had a UTEC in there?" Uh, no. Thanks for making me feel like an idiot though! At least I got the plugs changed and the turbo installation cleaned up (the previous owner had interesting ideas of "oil return") so I don't cry TOO much for the 8 hours of labor that problem fix cost me...

UPDATE!:
276whp / 291wtq on a "Heartbreaker" Mustang Dyno. Stock hits about 210whp on it so I'm pretty happy. I'll try to scan the sheet in and update my mod list when I get back from picking her up. FUN FUN!!!

OK, here's the dynosheet. 16PSI only, very conservative. I was after a clean running car and gobs of torque. It has >150wtq at 2500RPM so you're basically always in the power band. Honestly, it's one of the most "square" power bands I've driven. The car clearly is begging for more top end but I really don't miss it yet. 276whp is a lot more than my stage 2 EJ20 wrx put down.

Again, numbers are 276whp / 291 wtq on a dyno that stock STi's hit 210whp on...

If you want to figure out the turbo, pull the compressor housing off and measure the compressor wheel inducer and exducer.Only 16psi?

yeah, he was already pulling timing at 16... Technically it was 16.7 when it was all said and done but whatever.

It's a 16G of some kind and it looks pretty small really so it's likely just a "regular" TD05-16G. A workable assumption. Spools f-ing quick, I tell you that.

I haven't driven it in 2 weeks though before today. And before that I was breaking in the clutch. Feels so good just to have a USABLE sports car again

Updated my profile with everything. It's a really nifty thing we have here that you can put in all the numbers, even the dyno type, and a link to the chart.

Spelling fixed btw, ty.

I, uh, live in Minnesota now. For the moment. I still own a house in Philly (renting here, company pays my rent). Hopefully I'll be home soon. But no, I didn't drive out. I live there for the moment.

Nice numbers Mosc. That turbo looks like it spools up really quick, must be a blast to drive.

Hey are you selling that cobb access port from your WRX?

Nice Mosc, I bet the car is a riot now. Congrats on the newfound power.

Oh yeah, congrats on the new addition to the family too. I'll be joining you shortly.
