The wrx was sold stock. It also had a warranty on it which really made it much easier. If I had done something stupid to her and blown something, she still had more than three years of full coverage.
Modded injectors can put out about twice as much as stock. Give or take. The key is to do professional flow testing to make sure they're all the same and working right. It's not too much cheaper and of course you'll be without injectors for a while but there are places you can just send em off to and have all that done.
Boost leak. They're tracking it down for me because I'm not driving out there again until it's tuned. Already been back and forth twice now. I'm sure it will be an interesting bill...
I was looking for about 6 months before I found one I could stomach. Many were highly modded or the owners were asking well over blue book.
I finally tracked this one down for 21700 with 41k miles and in particularly good shape interior/exterior wise. I was unhappy about the mods on the car but I don't think intakes and TBEs are a huge deal.
too bad u waited that long for something like that. espcecially the mystery turbo ordeal. good luck with the tune and finally getting to enjoy your new ride.

mystery turbo is an unmarked TD05... probably a 16G.
Haven't driven her in 2 weeks. I have a very frustrated mechanic out here who's been through most of the car at this point. I'll keep y'all posted.
Compression test came out 135psi all around. Not ideal, but shouldn't be the cause. Turbo seems to be fine. Map is stock (although now scaled for larger injectors I put in). New plugs.
I'm leaning more towards distributor or something. It runs fine but once it gets decent boost, it falls flat on it's face. I originally thought this was just because the turbo wasn't stock with a stock map but the mechanic describes it more as a boost leak
