So, I think I'm going to buy an '09 STI within a month (hopefully) [Approval pending] XD. I've found a nice used one with 7,000 miles and everything I want in it. And they're willing to ship it right to my door. I was considering an '07 STI but I've decided that I need the trunk space that comes with a hatchback.
Does anybody have any suggestions for some beginner mods? Perhaps a boost controller?
I agree with boosted09, get used to the car before you try and cranking up the power too much. But the best thing is some type of engine management, then a downpipe. Then from there its all up to you and what you want out of the car.
That is true. I was just brain storming. I will give the car some time before I decide to do anything to it performance wise. I'd love to test drive one but I can't find one in my state. So I may test drive an '09 WRX and see how that feels to me.
well i haven't driven an STI but i love my WRX...driving a turboed car is not like driving a regular car...at low rpm its about the same but once you step on it and boost hits...the car just erupts...i scare my wife everytime....The only problem is most dealers wont let you get on it when you test drive it..so i hope you can get the full effect
well most people who buy Wrx's are enthusiasts...so they are worried about people just coming in for a joy ride....i was going to buy a Mazdaspeed3 9 months ago and the dealer wouldnt even pull it out of the showroom and let me drive it...i dont know about you but i am not going to buy a car i cant drive.
They honestly should have a "test" car there just for that reason. The two local delaerships here have a couple that they rotate, or use for a bit then sell for cheaper than the other cars, most of the time referred to as "fleet cars".
