(Theoretical) selling question

So I was reading through the sorums today when I thought of a question for some of the more knowledgeable guys on here.
Assuming you test drove a WRX with fairly low milage (for whatever year) and it drove fine. And there were no check engine lights or anything like that, how would you feel about buying it at STG 2? I only as because EVERYONE seems to be really wary of modified cars. I personally don'y see an issue with STG 2 becuase its very few mods.
I understand its kinda hard to answer without a price, but I don't have a price to throw out there becuase this is just a what if question, I am not actually looking at buying a dif car. Or selling my current one at this time... but I may have to in the future if I get out of the military and don't get a good job lined up fairly quickly.
Thanks for your thoughts.

There are 2 issues.

1-was it done correctly
2-was it tuned for said "stage2" mods right after they were installed

And a 2.5 (with power comes great responsibility) Did they beat the piss out of the car.

That's all I have.

That all may be true but I don't know you personally and haven't seen how you treat the car so I'd just be taking your word for it. You could potentially say that just to unload your problem into me. I'd definitely be sceptical of the purchase. You may have thought it was done right but people have different right ways sometimes. I'm not saying you're that guy but there are people out there like that. When I'm gonna spend my hard earned money on something it better be what someone says.

My buddy bought an srt4. The kid claimed it was a great car no problems, blah blah blah. So he buys it and finds a bunch of shit not done right. The car was in the garage more than he could drive it. All because he took this guy's word for it. He unloaded that thing pretty quick. Dumb mistake on my buddies part for sure.

On the other hand you could go out find a straight shooter and have no problems and the car does not have issues for a long time. Regardless it's the chance some one takes. Even on an unmodded used one someone could have beaten the thing into the ground. You just never know. Research a lot and and look for signs of abuse to hopefully reduce the chances and hope for the best. (I know you can't always tell if it's been abused)

A lot of the reason I went new. I didn't have to worry about getting into someone else's disaster.

Unless you can see no signs of abuse. Can tell the previous owner seriously babied the car and slaved over it. I'd be a bit skeptical...but, if man_show wanted to sell me his car tomorrow. I probably would buy it. Because the guy loves the shit out of his car and it shows. If it's a local buy, see if the previous owner is willing to keep in contact if any issues would arise to bounce questions off of. If the guy is unwilling to answer questions or seems dodgy...there probably a reason behind it.

There's great value in a 1. decent test drive, 2. a review of maintenace (+ upgrade) documentation, and 3. a check by a qualified mechanic.

As long as the observations in the 3 checks above are consistent with the seller's story, I would believe it.

You can't eliminate all risks in a purchase.

Woo hoo! So much love around here. <3 It's funny, that's like the ultimate compliment to me. Several locals asked me recently if I would consider selling the car to them too, but I'd have a terribly difficult time parting with it... 6 1/2 years together is a long time. In fact, that's the longest relationship I've been in!!!
