So i picked up the door, thanks baller, and now its just down to picking an auto body place to do the work. What are some opinions on Maaco? I know many people will tell me no way, but for putting on a door which I have already examined, painting it, and putting it on the car, is there really a way to mess this up? And if they can do it for 25-50% less than the quotes I have already got is it worth it?

Man, its up to you. But, I wouldn't let Maaco touch my paint with a 10 foot pole. They're great if you don't care about the overall product.

yea i'll have to get an estimate from them, supposedly there's one here in jersey that I hear is very good. We'll see, i just cant fathom paying like 650 for a paint job on 1 door.

tell them to skip painting the inside then...unless they're talking about paint the door jams and what not. but the full inside of the door isn't necessary

Actually I just called the place I've chosen to go with. Told them I will be bringing it there on thursday and he said he will have to keep it over the weekend. I'll update with pictures once I get everything done.

they make crystal grey and urban grey one is light and one is dark

i had a small run in with my bumper. got it done reasonably by a local guy. he said the metal flake tends to lay differently everytime.

i got lucky and it laid down right. BUT now you can tell there's a slight color change from bumper to fender. it annoys me.
what annoys me more is that i know i'm the only one that can see it cause i'm looking for it. :\

sorry about the door though. that sucks. bad.
