Redline, something to watch out for?

Have any of you had any encounters with a Saturn Redline yet? Yeah I know, it's just a Saturn but have you seen the Dyno results yet? Pretty impressive: 197hp @ 6450 and 169lb-ft @ 5250. I also read 194hp somewhere else but either way that's not slow in a light car like that. They're only rated by Saturn at 205hp so either they are under-rating it or the Dyno's are wrong. My cousin just picked one up on Tues but I haven't been it/driven it yet. Has anyone run into one or at least been in one at all? As far as Saturn's go I have to say I'm pretty impressed with the numbers. Let me know your thoughts.

I encountered one, it was quick, but just like racing an SRT-4, took it off the line. It showed no signs of catching up the entire time, but we only went to about 70.

one was dumb enough to try to race me on a dirt road... I bet you can all guess how well that worked out for him...

also I have heard their wheel base is extremely long so unless you are in a straight line, dont even give it a second thought...

Sounds good. I'll let you guys know how they feel after I drive my cousin's. I figured they would be pretty close to the SRT-4.

thier only high 14's cars , nothing compared to an srt-4. a good driver could compete w/ a stock rex , but for 195 hp to the front it's not all that impressive and of coarse an srt-4 is actually puttin down closer to 230 hp and more torque to the wheels. but immagine when i saw one at my local speed shop w/ a monster turbo, engine managment, and a 75 hp shot of nitrious on the dyno. they said on stock boost and its natural mods it was hittin 300 and 300 to the wheels! in the end thier expecting 470hp

also i read somewhere that gm put the redlines' rev limiter at 6500 yet the car was still building power. they did that because thats only where they tested the motor till thay said...

I was just a little disappointed when I read that they were pushing around 194 whp stock. Hell, our cars stock only push around 170 whp (one drawback of awd). I didn't expect that at all from a saturn. I guess I figured since it was supercharged it would have even less to the wheels too, because they USE power to GAIN power. I think I read that their 0-60 should be around 6.3 or 6.4. It's kinda funny to see how bad fwd kills 0-60 times.

I really don't understand why anyone would want wrong wheel drive in a sporty car. Never ever should a performance car have the same wheels that turn it be the only wheels that move it. It's just stupid.

Um....Lost to a Redline

Well my cousin and I finally had a little run. He got the jump on me because we were talking at a redlight and I wasn't paying attention. But he beat me. I didn't pull on him at all . 1st gear we were even and as soon as he shifted to 2nd he started pulling on me. I don't know if any of you have raced one yet but don't let the saturn logo fool you, it's not like any other saturn, that's for sure. We're going to run again, next time I'll at least kill him off the line but the Redline definately is not a slow car.
