R.I.P. Subi :(

well not mine but my moms new 2011 Legacy. Step dad was driving home from work cause it was a lease and my mom didnt want all the miles. She works 70 miles from home and he only works 6. Good thing he drove it this day because his other car is a 04 BMW Z4 and there is NOOOOOOO back seat or trunk!! Pretty sure it could of killed him!

Anywho a truck carring mulch was doing 45 and had no brakes or he didnt hit them. Sent Jim into the car in front of him which deployed the air bag. He had his seat belt on but got a huge tear on his left eye lid like it riped the skin from the friction, messed up/broken nose, tore his outer septum, like the small peice of skin in between his two nostrils tore apart and had to have stitches to connect it again, burn forearm from the air bag, pain etc etc etc. Pretty banged up but at home and doing ok on meds. Good thing Subis can take a beating!

no need on a lease plus she put money down. this time shes buying because she was afraid of the miles and her old company pulled her company car and then her job. now she has a better one so she can buy.

she wants the same car but theres so many more haha. there ugly but i see VW now has turbo diesels at 43 mpg vs the legacy 31. Top Gear did a 800 mile trip on one tank and they have a diesel Legacy that gets 50+, america??

Glad that he is doing ok, it could of have been a lot worse. The car did its job well. There was a site news a ways back mentioning the diesel Subarus, but it said the diesels would not make it state side probably. We always get the shaft when it comes to the good stuff. The new 2012 impeza will get 36 mpg, but it is fugly beyond belief. It also goes back to a "revised" 2.0 L engine. Diesel is expensive in the states as compared to europe, but if I could get 800 miles on one tank. Then it would more than make up for the cost.

see thats what im trying to tell my mom who her first words were "no way, diesel's expensive!" but its only .50c more right now. on a 16 gallon tank the VW could go 688 miles while her Legacy could only do 496. ya its more for a tank of gas but for the Subi to match the miles it ends up costing $14.37 more. lol the VW are just butt ugly!

Wow! Good thing he wasn't driving the BMW. That's one wrecked car. Sorry to hear about and just glad your step dad made out of it alive.

Passat.

Manshow, 3400lbs CVT 170hp Legacy can't be any better. At least the VW have huge torque.

You better explain this. Are you getting a new WRX or legacy?
