Price for 05 STi

What is a fair price to pay for an 05 STi from a dealer? I was thinking about picking one up but the prices are all over the place. I've seen them as high as $27,000 which is insane. There is one for sale locally and I was going to go offer the dealer $20500 for it. What do you guys think? I'd figure I'd get some opinions before I go talk to them.

Just look at kbb.com

Put in required information and it will give you a starting price to haggle with.
The dealer was asking 26,995 for mine with 30k miles and I got it for 23,500...

That is your best bet. Just use kbb and see what it should be. There is always room to haggle some, you just have to know what to say and how to "act" when they are trying to be a$$'s about it.

Any other advice about buying a car in general? This is going to be the second car that I have purchased from a dealer but the last one my dad did all the haggling and got the deal for me. This time I will be going alone.

In all honesty it is a real good idea to have a trusted mechanic do a good inspection of the car. It will probably cost 100 bucks but its worth every penny. Obviously do this if you are SERIOUS about buying the car. They will do compression checks, check for any frame damage and check for many other things. Get a carfax report....but... I had my mechanic check out an integra a while ago...had a clean carfax...and found major frame damage...not all accidents are reported...be patient and wait for that car that is super clean and hasn't been modded. You will be happier, trust me.
