OEM window visors

Well it took me about 2 hours but I finally installed the window vents I ordered from subaru about a couple months ago. I was kinda scared to install it… was actually thinking about getting the dealership to install it but found out they charge $100 labour. So I just sucked it up, took my time and I am pleased with the results. I wonder what else I can install in my own. HahaName: ImageUploadedByAG Free1373439140.829689.jpg

Nice job! Looks good. I have them and had the dealer install them. The mechanic had a tough time getting them on so I was glad I sucked it up and had them do it. I think it took him like 3 hours so they didn't charge me labor for having to wait so long lol!

There are a lot of things you can install yourself. IMO, it's a pretty easy car to work on in the overall. What are you looking at doing next?

Looks good. I love mine also, yet they were def a PITA to install. The inside hooks make it difficult! Making sure they're fully in the channel of the door while trying to line them up on the outside of the door certainly took some time. If you took the whole piece of tape of instead of just the corners first you're REALLY screwed lol!

Where does the tape adhere to, the door sill or the exterior?

The tape goes on the exterior part of the door so it's a PITA to try an set the hooks inside the window molding on the inside perfectly at the same time. If the hooks aren't ALL the way up in the channel the rubber molding can't be pushed back in afterwards.

yah, it took me a while to figure out what those hooks were for. didnt really say in the instructions from the box, since its all in japanese... so i had to figure it out from the pictures. my biggest worry was the rubber gasket. but i was surprized it came off quickly. well, lets see if it holds up in winter. the winters here in canada are quite brutal, so i hope it sticks on during the cold season. lol

I would've recommended using a heat gun on the door and tape, which would've given a very secure bond. You def don't wanna heat it from the outside afterwards though. But as long as you cleaned the door well with alcohol you should be fine.

how does that work with the half doors we have? do you have to open the window to open the door. looks nice for sure, but just confused on how it would work with no door frame

The 08+ has an actual "whole door" like most cars these days now. My GF's 02' has the frameless windows.
