considering they are "one-wheel drive", I wouldn't even think about comparing the two.

Comparing apples and oranges again. We shall see how everyone grasps is and where it goes. I dont think it will make it as a tuner car. The one I hate seeing is the Genesis 2.0T around here. Slammed to the ground, fart cans and loud BOVs, and one or two with neons on. And of course they want to race everytime the see me.

Unless your racing in the Silver State Challenge I wouldn't worry about racing one in the standing mile. After all street racing is not good, people die from it. Now in a 1/4mile or 1/8 drag, I'm sure we'd win, then again it's hard to say what people will do with them. With the right amount of money anything is possible. This video is proof...

I've bolded everything the WRX wins in.... To sum it up, just don't forget to turn off your traction control

Either way, this thread will probably be locked before too long.... This is bench racing and is not accepted on the site.

Sounds like my buddy. He bought a gene coupe 2.0L and he gotta EBC which he ended up blowing off all vacuum lines erc and now its parked. Hate those cars especially The drivers lol.

But for the OP,,,,, compare evos to stis NOT optimas to wrxs i know u just want info but those are two completely diff cars bud

I don't know to many tracks with a mile long straight away. Not just any off road area can work. You have to have permits to race off road, TRUST ME.

Bench Racing...comparing X car to Y car. Its a pointless arguement and will basically end in people just all out attacking each other over something that doesn't mean anything. Pen!s envy will just result in having your thread locked. Its what keeps this forum clean and novice friendly. Keeping all of the flaming off the forum.

couple more important stats (from the same publication that RcrsWetDream used):

2011 Optima Turbo - Curb weight (mfr. claimed): 3,385 lbs. (as tested: 3,535 lbs.) Weight Dist. (front/rear): 59.7/40.3

2011 Subaru WRX - Curb weight (mfr. claimed): 3,208 lbs. (as tested: 3,185 lbs.) Weight Dist. (front/rear): 57.5/42.5

After owning a WRX for many years and living in Korea for 3 years, my personal observation is this:

WRX traces its roots to rally car racing, while the Optima traces its roots to taxi service (in Korea they are used extensively for taxis along with Hyundai Sonatas and licensed clones of Nissan Altimas).

I've taken one at the speedway in Marion. They don't seem to have those ponies under the hood. Then again, I never really drove one. They are quick, but not WRX fast
