Need technical advisor for a book

I am an author and my work-in-progress includes a character who is modifying his WRX for performance. I need someone with similar experience to provide guidance and realism to the character. The communications would be by private email or on the forum, at your preference.

Seriously? Honestly is would be quicker to read the forum. The basic steps are a turbo back exhaust, ecu programing and some sort of intake system or panel filter replacement. Not really all that different from any other car. There are hundreds of brands and options, but a stage 2 is still called a stage 2 regardless of brands.

It would be nice to see a character with some actual car knowledge...

I'm thinking of all the horrible lines from Fast and Furious about hitting the nitrous "too soon", and yelling at your laptop in the middle of a race. :-)

Granny shiftin' not double clutchin' like you should. You're lucky that hundred shot of NOS didn't blow the welds on the intake!

Did you see the CSI Miami where all the tuners where stealing "jet fuel" to make their cars faster. LOL

I'd like to see what diesel would do to a tuner honda. LOL

That sounds cool, honestly you could just post questions or general ideas here to get a few responses and feedback to choose where you want to go from there. I'm excited to see the final product, feel free to pm me if necessary.

Are you looking for the ups and downs of tuning? Buying bad products? General info? Many members on this site could help immensly. I agree with posting general questions or jsut a straight up search ont he forum to get your info for your book. Good luck with it tho. I have always enjoyed writing short stories, even though I have never been published or even written one in about 8 years.

Oh boy! Another Frederick, MD member (I live there too). Do you have a WRX or STi of your own? I'd love to help you out with your book, but I really only know the basics about tuning these cars. I'm learning as I go.
