My baby got rear-ended!!!

So I'm so mad I just need to vent....

I've had my car for like 2 1/2 months, and yesterday, I was driving to the auto parts store, but I never made it there...I stopped kinda suddenly under a green light so I didn't hit the car in front of me, but the guy behind me wasn't so nice...a Chevy big a** Silverado rammed into me, pushing me forward and to the left causing my front right corner to hit that green minivan... right now it sits in the dealership waiting on an estimate... I'm so pis*** off right now...

Damn man that sucks. Somehow im not surprised the guy that was stopped was an old man in a minivan. Go figure. Old people should retest for their license.

rollin on 17's now and they're dirty

i agree....3 people died around my way because of elderly drivers... i think that is a big enough reason for them to retest...not to mention they are causing WRX accidents too...

so stock its not even funny...just kinda sad :(

I know how you feel!! I had put about 3000 miles on my 05 when some Ahole T-boned me at 50 mph in town!! It ended up totaling my car! To top it off, my wife and I were on our way to teh airport for a Vegas vaction.

As for the elderly driver comments I agree (if they're REALLY old), however it wasn't the case here... in my case the driver who hit me from the back was a young college kid in his truck...i got pushed into the older guy's minivan...
And so far the insurance bandwagon is rolling...I gotta rental car yesterday, it's not bad a 2009 Mitsubishi Galant...hopefully today or tomorrow someone from the insurance company will go and look at my car at the dealership and keep the process moving along...i hope the truck hit me high enough where there is no frame damage...

Everyone should retest for their license every few years, or if they are in an accident where they are at fault, or if they get a DUI, or if they get a certain amount of points in a short period, or if they are stopped going more than 40 over the limit (especially in a populated area). A higher percentage of old people are terrible drivers I'm sure, but I bet half the people on the road would fail a driving test right now.

The thing that really sucks is that you get the blame for hitting the guy in front of you even though you got pushed into him because you were "not keeping a safe distance," at least that's what I've heard. Is that how it's happening?

I always thought they interviewed the person first in line (the driver of the van) and asked him if he was hit once or twice. Once would indicate the third person pushed the second person into the first person - proving that it was ultimately the third driver's fault. Two hits would indicate that the second person hit the first and the third hit both of them and both the second and third drivers are to blame. That's my understanding of it anyway. But I'm curious too, how is it happening?
