Saab is joined with Subaru now, so maybe he got confused between the two? He was at least close yeah.

Yes they're working togeather. GM owned 10% of subaru a few years back and recently sold it to Toyota. They do this mostly because they want subaru's drivetrain tech.

The only GM cars that really used anything from subaru was the 05/06 Saab 9-2x / 9-2x Aero which are underneath the body pannels almost entirely subaru. The 9-2x being an "RS" and the 9-2x Aero being a "WRX". The 06 9-2x even got the EJ255

I seriously considered trying to get one of those Saab 9-2X Aero's... It's so sleeper! A frigen WRX in Saab disguise! They gained 45whp at redline with a bellmouth downpipe.

Ok I got this one today from like a sophomore in high school...

"Does that have a turbo?" and then I say yeah and drive off to pick up my girlfriend. And then I come back the same way I came in and the same kid goes and says "do a burn out!! You got tires!!" Haha. And I looked at him and drove off and started laughing.

kid "is that thing stock?"
me "yeah"
kid "my civic will burn that thing, but I think you could beat me if you threw a turbo on it I heard those things are fast once they are turbo'd"
me *drive away*

Actualy the saabs are all 9-2X's the diffrence is the areo which is like the WRX and the linear which is like the RS. I have an 05 areo, and i have had a few questions myself about my car. SuBeast i'll be selling it soon, i have done little convincing to my wife that we should upgrade to an STi.

There's a guy on mnsubaru.com who is looking for one if yours is in good shape and unmolested... particularly if it's an 06 aero...
WTB 06-07 wagon, prefer 9-2x but WRX is good too - MNSubaru.com

Sorry, forgot the X was common and not the Aero. Guess X is AWD and Aero is turbo...

I was telling my friend about his car and that he was could run 400+hp at like ~20psi on race gas and he told me that he needs to get a turbo and then he'll really bring in the power.

Ummm... it's already turbo, what do you think I meant by psi? tire pressure?

edit- I think someone has this as their signature on this forum. "that things got turbo?"
That would be me.."That thangs got turbo!?"

Story goes like this.
My roommates cousin was visiting for the weekend. He IS White Trash.I'm in the garage, when he came out for a smoke. While i am doing my thing, he askes "Why is your radiator way up there?" I calmly explain to him that "It is an intercooler." ... "An Inter....Cooler?"... "Yes, to cool off the turbo." ..... "That thags got turbo!?"

Tim "That Thangs Got Turbo?"

Intercooler's don't cool off the turbo. They cool off the pressurized intake air coming from the turbo. Sorry to nitpick...

Now that I know the story that makes your signature funny. lol

PS-(to the guy with 9-2x aero) I unfortunately can't afford anything right now since i'm just a barely high school graduate, first year in colledge kid who works 2-5 hours a week at McDonalds at minimum wage. Later though when I get a new job or start getting more hours, i'll start being able to save up for a down payment and can afford a loan.

a couple weeks ago some old guy asked me, "is that one of those new mustangs?" When i told him it was a subaru, he looked at me like i was lying to him.

I also had a kid ask me to "do the blow-off valve".

Ahahaha! probably...
My friend thinks that a turbo car has multiple BOVs, he keeps referring to them as blow off valves. Such as, "I love that SRT-4 with the turbo and those blow off valves..." Because some SRT-4 wanted to race me in my Jetta a couple months ago and kept spooling his turbo and the BOV "Pshhhoo" next to me. I was just like, yeah right like i'm going to race you on this busy ass street....
