If its like Audi Quattro concept car probably in the $80,000 range. Which the concept car had the same 5 cylinder engine that was bumped up to 500ish hp.

I think it's the same engine setup that Volvo had a while back that slapped the piss out of the Focus RS and Cosworth STi. It's just sexy.

Not a chance man...unless that C30 had a swapped out engine for a TT-RS engine. The C30 on top gear just had a lot of work done to it. The base engine is only 227 hp. Look here: Volvo C30 Tech Spec ? Compare Technical Specifications

Ok, paul there are a few things wrong with this. The polestar is 405 bhp and not 500+. The polestar is still a concept car. It shares the ford focus ST and RS engine. Last but not least, it is 40,000 pounds. Which in dollars is a lot more. Plus, I highly doubt the car is able to be imported to the america. It'd have to meet our crash and safety standards. Plus the emissions standards, which would kill all the power out of it. It'd be nice to think we could get it, but I wouldn't hold my breath.

I was sayin the Audi and the Polestar have the same 2.5L block and the Audi just has bigger chargers.

The Audi TT-RS sells for 50K

Can't see this one going for more than 70K..... It'd still spank most on the road today (performance AND looks). It would probably get robbed of 30-40hp from emissions.... I don't see much more.

As far as weight... It's just over 3000lbs C'MON now. STi's are running at 38-40K.... I'm not coveting the Audi... It's just really purdy. 40,000lbs = 64K USD

As far as holding my breath... I did for many years waiting for the WRX.... And here it is.

Hold a sec... Are you comparing the Polestar to the regular C30 ??

The polestar to the A1 Clubsport. Which is rated at 500+ bhp and the polestar is 405 bhp. The Polestar is estimated at 40,000 pounds. I don't think the Polestar and Audi TT-RS share the same engine. Which is what the Clubsport is going to get....a TT-RS engine just with different cams and heads. The same engine the Audi Quattro concept car had. Which in the article in Car and Driver said the Quattro concept had the TT-RS engine and that was the modifications to it. Oh, the Clubsport or polestar will spank a lot of cars on the street. But, the article that you linked did say the Polestar uses the same engine that the Focus ST and RS gets. Just a bigger turbo.

The A1 is impractical to me. I'd need something A3 sized at least. A WRX isn't that small and I've come to rely on the space. That, and I'm not sure how 6'4" fits in an A1 in the first place...

And who actually WANTS to work on an AUDI??

Ok, we are all on the same page then.

I know they are a nightmare to work on. And bank for parts and maint.

Mosc, I thought that of the MS3 @ first, but it still has lots of legroom & headroom.

Its like a BMW M1. The maintenance will cost you tons in the end. I'm 6'3" almost and I sat in a MS3. It wasn't any worse than the STI. So, yeah...Its nice to look at. But, I wouldn't want a M1 or A1 clubsport.

I can fit fine in an MS3 without a sunroof. I don't think it's that small. My impression is that the A1 is a lot smaller than the MS3. I think the A3 is similar in size to the MS3.

Didn't look like the A1 was smaller at all.... Hmmm. Can't find any more detailed specs. Go figure.
