Bought my 06 grey wrx tr in april of 07, paid that off by april 08. Traded that in april 08 to get the 06 sti and had that paid off 8 months later. LOL. I can't quite spend like that anymore. I'm saving money on power mods now. . Which I will be spending a lot here soon.

What parts you have into a car is neglible. If that were the case I would be able to sell my car for as much as a brand new 07 STI w/ 0 miles. I feel sorry for the person that pays that much for your car.

Well, take that to a dealership and you'd see a decreased trade in value. Because it's highly modifed. In turn, it doesn't normally resale for as much. That's what NTTG was talking about. Parts don't make it worth more.

Why do you insist on stirring up trouble C89ZX7R? Both are good points. Generally, a handful of mods won't significantly increase the value of a car. However, sometimes cars can be sold for significantly more than KBB value - it depends on the level of aftermarket work as well as demand for the vehicle and how naiive and/or rich the buyer may be. Depending who buys it, you might get close to $15k for your car after all.

I saw your car for sale when I was looking for a white STi and fully willing to make the drive. It was a no-brainer.

100,000 + miles on a heavily modded STi for $15000? "What a great deal!" said nobody on earth.

If I were looking to buy that car, I'd be concerned about the suspension setup - you mentioned that you upgraded the springs, but not the shocks AND that you bought aftermarket bump stops. That says to me that the car is rather slammed and you were hitting the stock bump stops. Odds are that the shocks might need to be replaced soon and I'd probably have to invest in another set of springs to make the ride more comfortable. I'd also be worried about the aftermarket clutch and flywheel. Even though it's an STi and the trans can handle more abuse than a WRX 5mt, I'd still be more comfortable with stock equipment in there. Stock clutches can last up to several hundred thousand miles, so an aftermarket piece leads me to believe that the car was/is driven hard. Also, your friend's map could be a little too aggressive and not safe for the car. It would be nice to have an expert opinion about the details of it since I don't know too much about those details. Other than that, the rest of the mods look relatively decent. With almost any car over 100k miles, I'd probably pay pretty close to KBB. For yours (even with the mods), I might pay 1,000 over or so if everything else was mechanically sound, but that's just me.

Also, I didn't see where you mentioned how good of shape the tires, brake pads, and rotors were in. And I didn't see anything mentioned about general maintenance either. So, just a few more things to think about since those can add up in price pretty significantly for the next owner.
