Garage
My nest egg rolled out the nest and broke on the ground. I quickly scooped it up, brought it home and had scrammbled nest egg for breakfast.

...and now I'm hungry.... Truth be told I would really like to be able to retire at 55. If things go the way they have been that shouldn't be a problem.

As long as you fund that second retirement yourself you have a good idea... The military/government is about the only thing these days with a pension. My pension is my 401k, and is why I put 17% in per year. I'm only 25 so I have a ways to go on that one... I know if I stick with my current company I can retire by 50 (employee owned FTW), but I'll have about 3 divorces, four kids that hate me, and a whole pile of money to roll around in.

Gotta figure out what I want more !Laugh!.

I'm actually shopping around for a different job back in Utah right now.... Lived there for two and a half years and now we're hooked and want to go back. Might finally be able to get somewhere permanent and buy a house, also impossible at my current job that moves me across the country every 2-3 years. At least we've been saving up for so long we can put almost 30-40% down on a decent house by the time we're ready.

I have well over $400k in stock investments right now, but I figured it will cost me at least $55k a year just to live on and I know social security won't be around so I am on my own. I will have my house paid off around age 52 so that and we don't really use credit cards for anything I might actually be able to do it if I can keep my head on straight.

Hahaha well I'm in Ohio, but my money is world wide baby....lol Crazy as it is that is about 20 years worth of investing. It's hard not jumping on the oil bandwagon, but I made well over $80k last year off BP's oil spill alone.
