It says synthetic right in the middle. And at the bottom of the screen shot I took it says 5w-40 fully synthetic.

So stupid super newb question, the dealer I take my car to says subie specs Dino juice for the wrx. I have 42xxx miles on my car, how much damage has this done to the engine? I figure I have the warranty and they are doing the oil changes so if it blows up Im covered. Should I swap to rotella? You all seem to agree its the best for our engines.

People get way too anal about motor oil. If your really want to do your car a favor, change it more often. People spend way too much on oil.

I use wolfhead 5w30 semi-synthetic. In other words: Cheap. I always change before 3k miles.

I went with Shell Rotella T6 5W-40 synthetic as well. It's got the biggest market share in the transport diesel market with an excellent reputation. It's a turbo oil, and so excellent for our twin-cam turbos. Rotella T6 is more of a protection oil, rather than a fuel economy oil.

OEM and WIX filters seem to be the favorites here. WIX is Napa Gold in Canada.

I've always used the OEM filters and T6 since learning about Rotella.

As far as oil... T6 is cheap enough to change every 3k... what... $7 for filter and $26-$28 in oil.

Cheap insurance
