Exhaust muffler upgrade

Does anyone know if subaru sells a louder version of their muffler for a 2013 wrx?

You can get an SPT cat back, but I have yet to find just an SPT axle back for sale. Best place to find just the muffler would be the NASIOC classifieds.

I have the spt cat-back. It's nice. It's probably not the best. It's louder than stock for sure, but not as loud as aftermarket stuff. Nameless axle back sounds good and is cheap. Why are you specifically looking for spt?

Maybe junk was the wrong way to say it. It's the design flaw that the one side hangs very low. I read more stories about it hitting the ground

^oh I hadn't read that it had issues with hitting the ground when I was researching before I got it. It definitely does hang pretty low at the one point, so i could see thats possible. I haven't had any issues with it scrapping anything yet. Well now if it does it won't be a shock why :)

The Subaru I am getting, it comes with a HKS catback on it, is this a good one? Or should I consider upgrading to something better?

How does it sound? If you like the way it sounds and how it looks, I'd say stick with what you've got. IMO I don't think a cat-back will contribute that much to performance, probably more for just sound.

^^+1^^ Not sure about HKS linked to a Subaru, but I had the True Duel setup on my 350z and it sounded better than any other exhaust I had heard by far! Very deep and throaty with no raspiness or drone at cruising speeds.

I have this OCD that everything should match. I'd like to keep subaru things subaru.

I was looking at YouTube regarding SPT exhaust. It's looks pretty good for my purposes. I drive around my family a lot and they hate the loud exhaust, but I love the noise. So I guess the SPT is a good compromise between loud and not so loud. Haha

Yea I've found that the SPT is good when you want that added rumble and not too loud when cruising. That's a big part of why I got it. My car is my DD and I like to take it on longer drives and I've found that it is perfect for all purpose. It will work well around the family. :)

how much did you pay for the SPT exhaust and to get it installed?
