Dumbest thing that you've done when modding.

I was finally hooking up my EGT probe, I know, I'm lazy. Got the manifold off, drilled it without cracking it even, and then I go to my toolbox to grab my tap set. I'm definately rocking now.

I forgot that my tap set is...

...Metric.

Oh well, I guess it's time to throw Sears a few bux.

My car is well, it's like 10 lbs of shit in a 5 lb bag...

Garage
Well, I am sorta new at it, but I have done a little work to my Stang...

I had a new CAI, a set of SLP Powerflo mufflers, and a tuner for the computer, (on the 05, you just reflash the computer, no need to change anything out) sitting on my living room floor for a week while I waited for the weekend and some time to put them all in. Saturday morning comes and I quick pop the CAI in, (took 20 minutes) put a tune on the computer, (pretty much required to avoid a CEL) and then I take off for the part store for some oil and a filter, then Sonic to get a Limeade to quench my thirst, then off to the Autohobby shop on base to use the lift. Put the car up on it and get a look at the stock mufflers and...

I left the clamps for the new system at home.

Ok, no big deal, head on back home, back on the lift in 30 minutes. Grab a 13mm socket and take ahold of the left muffler OWWW!!!!!!

those things get sorta hot...

once upon a time I was building a superbeetle for nitrous. I built up the whole engine and had everything ready on the bench (all along keeping a stock motor in my car). my plan was to keep the stock engine untill I got it all setup and running... then I would return my stock longblock to get my core deposit back on the built one that I bought.

One day I said "hey I wonder how my stock engine would handle a small shot of N2O"... it is just an adaptor plate for under the carb... it would only take a few minutes to try.

So I hooked up the bottle to my basically stock SuperBeetle I hit the button when I was going 30mph in 3rd gear. It SMOKED the tires and took off like a bat out of hell!!! SWEEET.

Then I turned around to make another pass... hit the button and threw a rod... not just through the engine case, but through the freaking hood of the car well there went my core deposit and I had to buy a new rear deck lid too.
