Drove an S4 yesterday

I drove a '00 Audi S4 with chip upgrade yesterday and was pretty impressed with it's performance. With the chip it was pushing about 300 hp and it was crazy how much it pulled even from 2000 RPM (must be the twin turbos). I liked it a lot, other than the super-sloppy shifter, so I got a little concerned / interested and went snooping around the A4/S4 forums online. Turns out there's been quite a bit of comparisons between our WRX's and the S4. I just thought it was interested how we don't really talk about S4's or A4's here at WRXtuners.

Anybody else drive one of them bad boys before? Thoughts / impressions?

Also I only have exhaust mods done so the S4 pulled hard to me. Would a WRX with say a VF22 pull just as hard or harder?

Thanks!

My gf's dad has one with a lot of work done. (exhaust, chip, wheels, all kinds of nice little mods for the looks, new IC hoses, and many more) that is one sweet car. Pulled real hard down low comared to my wrx most likely due to the v6. Nice car however I just have a thing about getting an Audi. (not my bag) I wont rag on the car, its a nice machine!

I raced a s4 on the interstat from 50 to 120 and its was dead even the whole way. I would start to pull on him slightley then he would start to pull the entire way. I have a vf22 with a stock intercooler. If i had the front mount i would have beaten him.

My dad has an 04' s4, the v8. From the moment I drove the car I was impressed. It is extremely quick, and has a nice shifter. All around nice car.

nice shifter? !Notfunny! As in appearance or feeling? One of the major flaws I saw with the '00 S4 was the sloppy shifter. It was horrible. It made the stock WRX one feel like a short shift lol. !Laugh!

I was talking about the 04' s4. Yes, excellent shifter. I have the sti shifter on my new 04' wrx, and there is no comparison to the s4. The s4 shifter has a much shorter throw, and goes into gear alot easier.
