Driving style?

Ran into an odd topic on NABISCO...

Basically, it dissolved down to what exactly "defensive driving" is. Started out due to someone saying how they'd pull up behind slow drivers, then flash their lights and honk.

Another fun note was the traffic jam situation and the people who drive down the closing lane and merge at the last minute.

Just looking for some opinions.

defensive driving is just that...driving defensively. i would have to say that about 98% of people dont drive like that.....which is not only driving your car the best possible, but driving and expecting what others are doing too...

i dont care how good you think you are driving...you are not sh|t compared to some others...and it takes years of practice/training to develop the refined skills of that style driving. you may be better then most drivers, but as long as you remember that there is someone else out there driving better then you, you will be fine.

my thoughts exactly...

my general concept of defenseive driving is driving with the assumption you are invisible to those around you and making the appropriate allowances.

on a side note, those in favor of aggressive behavior were under 25... hmmm...

Lately, I've had a lot of problems with people driving down the middle of the road in spite of me flashing lights or honking, or they just outright drive down the wrong side of the road. I guess I drive defensively because I AM invisible to these idiots, so I have to watch out for everyone else.
