Haha my bad. Didn't realize USC stood for Uncle Scotties Cocktail.

At this point will anything help me? So Andrewtech, Motul 300, or Subaru Extra S... Hmm...

I think Manshow was running straight Redline Shock proof. Might be more expensive....I haven't priced fluid changes out lately.

Might just do that. Redline is $14/qt from Grimmspeed, and Motul 300 is $28 on FastWRX.com

I used Redline 75W-90 NS from 3,000 to 60,000 miles. I switched to the Andrewtech Cocktail at 60,000 miles and plan to continue using that for the forseeable future.

You're right turmic, it's mostly Redline Lightweight Shockproof (slightly less than 3 Quarts), with 1 Liter of Motul Gear 300 75w90 mixed in.

The factory service manual recommends changing the transmission fluid every 30,000 miles, which is what I was doing up until my stock WRX 5 speed transmission failed somewhere between 84,000-87,000 miles.

I contacted Albins directly (I'll be using their stock ratio Helical 5 speed gears) and they recommended using only Redline Lightweight Shockproof with their syncromesh gears. I mentioned that I was considering using the Andrewtech Cocktail and they responded that the Liter of Motul Gear 300 wouldn't hurt anything and, in fact, might help it shift a little faster, so I'm pretty much sold on that mixture. They also recommended halving the trans fluid change intervals to about every 15,000 miles or so, so I'll be doing that too.

When I last purchased the ingredients, I found:

1 Liter Motul Gear 300 75W-90 for $15.95 @ mynismo.com

1 Quart Redline Lightweight Shockproof 75W-140 for $10.95 @ c3motorsports.com

(the above prices were accurate as of March 2011 and don't include shipping)

Just an FYI when I had the stock gears in my car I could shift into first at almost 30MPH, didnt do it much or often, but did it so I knew that it could be done. And to be honest it was easier getting into first with my stock gears as opposed to my PPGs now.

I just love "political correctness". Remember to tip toe around with every word you say or write. People are extremely over sensitive these days.
