Con or No?

Get this,

I was browsing through autotrader.com just to look. I usually find better deals than I got with my vehicle. So I came upon this one add for a 2004 STI with 30K miles. I notice that it had a fMIC and new rims. It most likely has other modifications as well. Here is where it gets good. The price for the vehicle is $6,500 with Taxes. I laughed my @ss off. I decided to email the owner for more information. Apparently It's a female who wants to sell the vehicle because she and her B/F are in Greece and they can't register an american vehicle oever there. Something about the price, bills, etc... She wants to do the deal through square trade. I think its:

1. Stolen
2. Her boyfriends and she is mad
3. The vehicle is messed up due to modifications etc...

I asked her a lot of questions and I'm just waiting for her to reply back.

That car has been on there since the fall when I bought mine. I was looking and looking and found it on Ebay and autotrader...can you imagine, if its legit how much to ship it though? Youd still save, but its probably not legit either...watch yourself

I have no intention on buying it. HeHeHe. I just wanted to see If It was really legit. she said that she would pay for the S&H, but If I wanted to return it than I would have to pay for it. The third party she wants to go through is pretty legit. I did ask her about 10-15 questions Like

1. Where in the states did you buy the vehicle (State City and Dealership)
2. Whats your full name. (Check to see if she purchased the vehicle)

And ETC... I'm still waiting on a reply. If by some act of god everything comes clean I going to have my friend get it.

Even if it is a lil messed up.. that's pretty good for parts alone.

Well I never got a reply back from her. It was probably because I mentioned the fact that I work for the government. However, I didn't mention what I do for the government (Army). HeheHe, but you never know she might email me back. I found a good deal on an STI for my friend though finally. 2004 STI 9K for 28988 after TT&L.

Thats' a nice deal on an STi, the second one.

This story reminds me of when i was looking into Evos and I saw something similar on Ebay. A pristene Evo with low miles for $12K. I emailed her with a few questions about it and it had scam written all over it.

Some people.

My car is well, it's like 10 lbs of shit in a 5 lb bag...

<------ Click to see what I'm workin' with. ;)

Speaking of Ebay

I know this is an old thread. But when Ebay and an Evo were mentioned, I thought about the guy who recently found his stolen Evo being sold on Ebay.

http://www.specialstage.com/dc/dcboa...age=show_topic

I posted this because I've seen several people ask about crazy cheap prices on cars and wondering if it's a good deal. Who knows. But I know of one that turned out to be a wife dumping a car to get back at her husband (wonder if she's in protective custody?), two that turned out to be cars with cloned titles, a local guy who was creating one Corvette out of two (did some hard time for that) and now this one... just flat out stolen. One of a thousand may be people (with mental problems) willing to sell $20K cars for $5K or $10K. But what normal person would do that?

The story above has a happy ending. I heard he got the car back after getting in touch with the seller (who apparently didn't know it was hot).

Anyway... buyer beware.
