Agreed.

Fender vents attached by 3M tape or STI badges on a WRX is a true definition of rice lmao! A better sounds system is def on my agenda after the DP and tune is paid for. The stock system in the WRX is truly the worst I've ever heard lol!

It's cool if nothing buzzes. If something buzzes with the stereo on, eventually it will buzz when the stereo is off. =damaging the car. I will not condone doing anything to the car that will damage the car.

A lighted shift knob is definately "RICE".

Just a thought...This is a "drivers car" With respect, let's keep it that way.

Sorry,I can't find the "little 2" on my keyboard.

I also don't get the "de-badging thing. I'm proud to own a WRX and I don't care who knows it. I just can't help recalling some car restoration show where they spent the whole episode looking for badges for an SS El Camino.

I can't wait for 20 years from now some poor car restoration guy shooting himself in the head 'cause he couldn't find the badges for the WRX he's trying to restore to factory specs. I guess I'm just some old guy that has been to too many car shows.

All right, where is the distributor cap? I need to find the #1 plug wire to hook up my SUN machine.

Fidrat it's a head unit or stereo. Like a 7" touchscreen for example.

Ok here is the scoop on car stereo being rice...if it buzzes on the bass it's RICE. I'm not talking about BUMP, It's the BUZZ that makes it RICE. Never mind the damage anything over 80db is hurting your ears.

Every time I hear a car buzzing by it makes me cringe just the same as a loose power steering belt squealing. It just makes my skin crawl.

All right, where is the distributor cap? I need to find the #1 plug wire to hook up my SUN machine.

You know, everyone has a different opinion on what "ricer" exactly is. My suggestion, if you want to do a mod, do it. All that should matter is that whatever work you do on your car makes you happy. Cast everyone's "ricer" opinion aside and do what you want. Who cares what others think? It's not their car after all.

Yeah, but others have to look at it when it's out in public

Oddly enough though, some trends make some people cringe while causing others to drool: brightly colored, crazy low offset wheels with stretched tires and spacers.

So, what is a ricer really? A stock or otherwise nearly stock car with:

1) Implementation of a whale tail wing (unless you have a track car)
2) Most universal stick-on body modifications that are held in place by double sided tape and can be purchased over the counter from your local auto parts store
3) Chrome door trim
4) Ridiculously inaccurate badges
5) Misuse of stickers

And a whole bunch of other things along those lines.

Doesn't necessarily work that way. Any wing that has THAT much downforce and have THAT much speed going on.... Needs more than a wing to save them.
