Can some one explain what a Ricer is?
I was talking to some kids last night not knowing what they drive and they where telling me to lower my ride and get a bov an this and that. I told them all i want is a little bigger catback to get the deeper sound not for power and I got call a ricer. idk what that means and i just need someone to give me examples. Sorry for the noob question just trying to see if I am one or not.

The funny thing was they where honda kids with huge spoilers on their cars.. i don't know why you would put them on a front wheel drive car.

Ironically it was those kids that were ricers in recommending that you lower it and add a BoV.

A ricer in mind is simply a view on someone's tastes. If the way they have done up their car is gaudy or tacky, then it's rice. If someone spends all of their money on aesthetic changes at the expensive of performance, same thing.

Ok i think im understanding now so anyone who makes there car look like something our of the fast and the furious but dont know what they are talking about performance wise?

Rice is anything you do to or put on your car that serves no purpose,is fake or makes your car out to be what it is not. It also can be a mind set. For example, a catback isn't rice unless you get it just for the sound or the look of a grapefruit launcher. Meaning, a catback isn't rice, what you said was. A BOV is rice if you want it just for the sound. So is lowering a WRX beyond what performance it gains. (personally I think lowering a WRX defeats the purpose of getting one unless you live where there is no snow.)

Twin chrome wiper blades are "rice" on anything.

lambo doors belong on a Lamborghini, nothing else or it is "rice".

Painting rear brake drums to look like disks or fake racing style chrome fuel doors="rice". (A popular thing for Hondas to do)

Saying "NOS" instead of "N20" or "nitrous" = a "rice" mind set...Get it?

A movie has nothing to do with it. Keep in the end it's your car. Do whatever makes you enjoy your car more. Don't put too much weight in what some "kids in Hondas" say. Almost everything they do to their cars is "rice".!Thumbs Up

Take a look at my car, if I wasn't stage two. I would call me a ricer.
To some, I am. It's a personal opinion sometimes.

Ps. Anything off the shelf at autozone in that one isle is RICE.

Putting "TRD" stickers on your stock Hyundai Accent with twin tipped exhaust is rice. (sorry, I've been wanting to get that off my chest for a long time)

Here's a tricky one: putting an 04-07 STi "park bench" wing on an 02-07 non-STi.

If you simply added the wing because you liked the look and wanted to respectfully imitate the STi brand because you had one or more significant STi parts on your car (Brembos, turbo, trans, etc.), you're probably fine. If you did a trunk swap and removed the badge, you're probably also fine. If you did a trunk swap and were too lazy to remove the STi badge, that's borderline rice. If you kept the badge on because you wanted people to think you have an STi and especially when people ask if your car is an STi and you say yes, then that's definitely a rice move.

ya i could see that being rice lying about your car. Personally i dont know why people debadge i love the fact i have a WRX badge ahaha i just with it was on my grill like the 09 or 10's.

Ohh is it rice to have a sound system in you car? I like my music LOUD I mean and already stating the process but im not sure if that is gonna make me rice or not.
