OWW!!! 30K service was $$$$$$$$$

way to expensive, almost $400 at 1st team today for my 30K service.
What is up with that, did I get scammed by the dealership? I feel like I got reamed.

1st team is supposed a Stellar Performer, is that due to the high service prices?

Ow, Ow, Ow

Anyone else had their 30K done there, what price?

30k service part 2

as if that is not bad enough...
I pick up the car this afternoon, get it down peters creek in front of the little food/gas market and notice the temp gauge is headed for Hell...
and quickly

I hang a big time U and head back to the dealership, the hole time watching the temp gauge pegging itself hot...

Get it back and tell them something is big time wrong...

They take it back and come tell me that when the flushed the cooling system, they probably left an air pocket somewhere in the system.

So now, they have my car on the lift, but only lifting the front end, with the engine running, and the cap off to hopefully entice the air bubbles to escape to freedom.

This process took an additional hour, and subsiquently I had to "fold space" to not be late for work.

They were really sorry about the whole thing and have told me that the car was not really running hot, it was just a water/steam bubble and since the temp sensor is near the cap, the trapped steam bubble was giving a false "Hey lets go to Hell" reading...

What say the experts, should I be worried or not...

Did they hurt my girl or just manage to scare the Hell out of me?

Woah dude, that sucks.

I've always had great experiences with First Team, and they've always been really cool about it. Mine just rolled 12,000 so I've got a ways to go before 30 but I'll definitely keep this in mind when the times comes.

And what exactly did they do that cost 400 bucks? It seems like just the 30k maintence shouldn't cost THAT much...

Check your maintanence manual. In the back it has a checklist of all the things done at each service. 30k is the full works inspecting everything and changing all fluids.

yeah..you know why first team no longer offers the free tires for life deal with the WRX?

ME!

as for the overheating deal.....i am not gonna comment. however, i do have in my toolbox a 17 dollar funnel to prevent any air pockets from forming when i do a coolant system repair. but of course, i am no dealership tech

Jerry Bradshaw really doesnt like me (he is the sales manager) not to mention that hateful dude from new england that is the service manager....

oh well. this is reason # 9856 why i do my work.....

but of course, i have been blacklisted by Subaru for warranty!

Yeah it was actually pretty funny hearing the salesman emphasize "...AND every car in the lot gets free tires for life...um except the WRX's."

In other news I was at Fast Freddy's Satuday from like 5-7 and didn't see anyone..although there was a blue rex that appeared but then was gone before I got a chance to meet who's it was?

Probably Travis. I had the stomach flu all weekend so I didn't make it out. Fear not. There will be more there soon....

By the way, where in Troutville are you? I have some good friends up there, and I go through there a lot going to my girlfriend's parents house in Fincastle.

Ahh cool. His headlight mod looked nice, makes me wish there were some more options for us 04 guys (other than using STi's).

I actually live in Blue Ridge, which is closer to Roanoke than Troutville. For some reason the address is still Troutville though. It's the Rainbow Forest area if you know where that is.

Yep. I know exactly where that is. Those headlights he had were originally on my car. I got tired of getting pulled over....
