Out of the 04, 05, the 05 is better. Little bit cleaner interior, better looking stock wheels, and a nifty little sun block built into the window above the rear view mirror.

Get a late 04 or preferably an 05, they upgraded the tranny. I wouldn't get anything earlier than that. Not to mention the smoked out headlights are tight.

In my opinion, the 06 is the "best" year. It is well worth the price difference over an 05.

naw, 2009 is the best year. But of the two you asked about maybe the 05.

not that it matters all that much but my 04 has the little sun visor above the mirror. I prefer the 04 stockers to the 05's. The 04 05 is the best looking imo. The hood scoop is more aggressive and the flat nose looks pretty mean. I may be a little bias though...

Not the best comparison, but both are my cars. A 2005 and a 2007, the girlfriend drives the 2005. To me my 2007 is much more agressive looking than hers, but maybe I too am bias.

The code is either AA (weak tranny) or BA (stronger tranny).

It was a midyear 03 change, not a midyear 04 change.

There isn't a better year of a car, every car has its pros and cons. Just because a certain year suites you more than another doesn't make it a better year.

2005 my man. Plus 2005 has the largest hood scoop but C89ZX7er is right is your personal choice, whichever one screams your name.

Honestly if the hood scoop is a preference you can get replicas for any of the years 2-07.
