I was just on nasioc.com and couldn't believe all the worthless trash talking, you can't even get a straight answer on a simple question because everyone just argues about it. So, everyone keep up the good work and thank you.

Interesting discussion - some of you know that we also own a DSM site (DSMtuners) which has over 26,000 members. One of the toughest things to do is to make it enjoyable for the new members and the old. New people may not realize they can search for the info, and older members are sick of the same questions. Soon it becomes a game as to who can reply with the most sarcastic remark to a popular question.
One of the reasons we launched our sites is because me and a group of friends wanted community sites that were - A. more than just simple forum sites where all the information had to be asked or searched for, and B. we wanted places that were unbiased and kept the values of both the "newbie" and hardcore enthusiast in mind. Most sites cater to the newbie in the beginning, but then gradually become a place that newbies get frustrated visiting because of all the elitists. Our goal is to keep it balanced.
We've done a decent job on DSMtuners (not to say that some people don't do the same) of limiting the punks from ruining the spirit of the site. We plan on doing the same thing here if/when it gets to be that busy.
